The December storm of 2007 flooded the city of Chehalis, Washington even shutting down I-5, the major thorough-fare between Portland and Seattle, for a number of days. The storm caused extensive damage to the entire region and the resulting floods destroyed the synthetic turf tennis courts at Thorebeck's Fit Life Center in Chehalis. This facility was recognized as the Outstanding Indoor Multi-Purpose Facility by the American Sports Builders Association in 2004. The soaked synthetic grass was removed and replaced with a hard-court system consisting of an asphalt overlay topped with Plexipave surface. Atlas Track & Tennis was selected to re-build the indoor courts by club owner, Dale Pullin. Atlas assembled a team that together, had the facility ready for play by mid-February.
